Shoot Like a Girl: One Woman's Dramatic Fight in Afghanistan and on the Home Front by Mary Jennings Hegar

June 14, 2017

Thanks in part to Star Wars, Mary Jennings Hegar knew early on that she wanted to be a fighter pilot.  Despite countless adversities and adversaries (including a failed marriage and sexist superiors), Jennings Hegar earned her wings and subsequently survived three tours in Afghanistan.  Pulling Gs, PJs (not the comfy kind), and the workplace hazards of flying over fields of burning cannabis are among the topics explored in Shoot Like a Girl.  Readers looking for books about our nation's heroes finding their tribes and finding their own heroes will enjoy this memoir.
